Horror Titles I Wish I Was Brave Enough For

I’m writing this Saturday, because for a lot of people, life in California involves planning to be without electricity for multiple days at a time. It’s so fun! Except it’s not, because we never know when it’s getting turned off, or how long it will last. I’m not here to rant, though, I swear. I just miss having food in my fridge and freezer…

Halloween is drawing ever closer and closer, and though we are preoccupied with other things here, like forty mile an hour wind gusts, high temperatures, and no humidity, somewhere in the world it is Autumn, and spooky.

I’m pretty brave. Only yesterday I spent time exploring my jobs basement, which was… very wrong. Stairs that lead to nowhere, old medicine bottles half full of dissolving pills, the remains of crematorium ovens, and an old vault. We stood in complete darkness and took flash pictures and it was fine. Never mind the glass that shattered behind me as I was coming up the stairs or anything. IT WAS FINE.

Happy Halloween! Here’s spooky books I’d read if I considered myself brave in the face of words…

Books I’d Give Different Titles To

This weeks TTT is all about books I’d give different titles to and… it is gonna be weird. I went right passed taking this seriously and dove head first into sarcasm and strangeness. It’s all very tongue and cheek and I haven’t slept well in days so I’m blaming anything and everything on that.

In other news, I’m one of the lucky thousands who’s getting their power turned off (again) in California. Never mind the death, waste, chaos, and general backlash of the last one, let’s do it again! /sarcasm

The Halloween Tag

I don’t think I’ve ever met a book lover who didn’t also enjoy Halloween. And why wouldn’t we? The chance to be something different for a night can be similar in ways to reading. Especially when you dress up as a favorite character.

Below the cut are thirteen Halloween themed questions, because thirteen is the most Halloween of numbers besides thirty one. I spent my morning decorating the front windows of my job for October and I never imagined I would be so tired from two hours of fake cobwebs and taking down old lights- wait! Halloween!

Today I am incredibly flattered and excited because I was nominated by Megan at A Geeky Gal for the Real Neat Blog Award, which makes me feel pretty shiny for obvious reasons and not because I went to the gym first thing this morning (and seriously, who turned the heat on while I was there? If you’re cold at the gym you aren’t doing it right). Thanks, Megan!

Book Reviews

To All the Books I’ve Read Before…

I’ve read twenty nine books this year, and yet I’ve written… *checks blog* nine reviews? Wait, eleven, if you count the “Provost’s Dog Trilogy” I reviewed all at once. Regardless! The math doesn’t add up- so! I’m doing a mini-review round up wherein I discuss the books I missed in a delicious, bite sized format. Like little cookies of book knowledge for you to put in your face or on your head, or perhaps feed to the monster in your closet. I dunno, you do you, or do whatever keeps the monster quiet.

Character Traits I Love

It’s Tuesday! And my water is getting shut off “for repairs” from 8 AM to 3 PM. How exciting! And then our power may get shut off from Wednesday into late Thursday to prevent everything from lighting on fire. But let me distract you from your obvious jealousy over my seven hours of waterless-life plus two days with no electricity and instead direct your attention to the post itself.

*does something tricky and complicated with her hands that may or may not be Naruto inspired*

This Tuesday’s post is about character traits I love, and me attempting to pretend that I like things other then sarcastic, insecure characters with addiction and attitude problems. Is being a thief a character trait? Maybe?
