How about a trip up highway 49?
Most people going through our county are on their way to different things, Lake Tahoe, the Sacramento Valley, or Yosemite. But if you take a left after Nevada City, you’ll wind your way up into one of the most scenic mountains drives in California.
49 runs south of the Plumas National Forest, along the Yuba river. It’s sparsely populated, with only a few isolated communities scattered along it’s course. A highlight on the drive is Downieville, which I will devote a Monday Morning to in the future.
Just about to head off to work- hope everyone has the best day they can, do something bold with it, and kind.
